Peacemaking: Top-Down vs. Bottom-Up

Through the framework of mainline political economy, ISSP director Christopher Coyne contrasts two views of peacemaking: peace pax imperii (“peace of government”) and pax hominum (“peace of human beings”). Coyne emphasizes the centrality of ordinary people as the main drivers of peacemaking by differentiating between top-down and bottom-up peacebuilding.
